Getting To and Around Larnaca

This is the largest airport on the island making it easy to find flights from the UK – the flight is around four hours long from there.
The airport is 3-4 miles from the town of Larnaca and takes around 15 minutes by car.
The airport lies on a motorway/expressway which takes you straight into the town.
If you were ever to need any help with your transport links once you have arrived in the airport, there is a Tourist Information Desk to help you out. There are also ATM facilities, shops and cafes and other standard
facilities, should you need them.
There are a few methods of transport to get you to your destination in Larnaca. A range of bus services run through the day from the airport and are usually every hour (Monday – Friday). Taxis and minibuses can also be prebooked from the airport or picked up once you get there.
If you are looking at hiring a car, there are a range of big name car hire firms in the arrivals lounge. Given the popularity of car hire, you may want to book your vehicle in advance to avoid disappointment. You could even arrange to pick your car up in Larnaca itself if that is of more convenience to you.
To hire a car you will need your full driving license and be over the age of 21 (or have been driving for three years).
In Cyprus, they drive on the left hand side of the road just like in the UK! Also, many road signs are also in English.
Getting around the country by bus is also fairly simple. Always make sure you visit a tourist information office before you travel to check for any changes. There are many buses running to the other large towns surrounding Larnaca on a regular basis and also less frequent routes to rural villages.
Not all services are available on a Sunday so may have to make alternative arrangements.
